STRATEGIES

DRUG PREVENTION WORKSHOPS FOR WOMEN LIVING IN DRUG MICRO-COMMERCIALIZATION AREAS

The community intervention strategies include the mobilization of social mediators in extremely high-risk areas. Women play a leading role in prevention work, providing spaces to develop activities.

CEDRO´s work consists in coordinating with organized groups of women establishing their own schedules and spaces, including the streets. The idea is to encourage a gradual improvement of the community's quality of life as a whole, with special emphasis on youths.

GOOD USE OF CHILDREN'S LEISURE TIME

The strategies are basically of an artistic-recreational nature, encouraging an interest in reading and the development of social and communicational skills. The objective being to promote a different outlook of what the members of the community themselves can offer.

The second level of intervention consists in offering job-training opportunities for youths.
